The race for Melbourne’s out-of-favour ruck Brodie Grundy has taken an intriguing twist.
Port Adelaide’s coach Ken Hinkley and young stars Connor Rozee and Zak Butters met with Grundy in a bid to lure the big man back to his home state of South Australia.
But the Sydney Swans are now in the box seat after talking up a lifestyle outside of the AFL bubble. 7NEWS reporter Mitch Cleary will bring you all the latest details on Grundy, plus more trade news, in Seven’s Talking Finals, tonight at 9.15pm AEST.

Now that they are out of the Grundy race, Port Adelaide looks set to secure fringe Western Bulldogs ruck Jordon Sweet, with the latter requesting a trade to the Power.
Also joining tonight’s show is three-time premiership mastermind Damien Hardwick.

He has since joined Gold Coast but tonight he will be facing off against his former captain Trent Cotchin.
Last week Cotchin was asked by Talking Finals host James Brayshaw how would he tackle Dimma.
“He looks horrible in red, for starters,” was Cotchin’s swift reply.
“I can’t wait to (have) a crack (at Dimma). I don’t like my chances but (I look forward to) having a little wrestle with him on the desk here.”
Talking Finals will air at 9.15pm AEST on Channel 7 and 7plus for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth viewers. Sydney and Brisbane can watch the show from 11.50pm.
